Punjab HEC chief resigns from Accreditation Committee

Punjab Higher Education Commission Chairman Khalid Aftab has resigned from Accreditation Committee due to undue interference of private universities and pressure, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
In his resignation letter, Khalid Aftab said that he could not work due to the toxic working environment. He submitted his resignation to Punjab Minister for Higher Education Raja Yasir.
Khalid Aftab had reservations about allowing private universities to join colleges and illegal approvals.
The Punjab government bypassed PHEC and approved three private universities.
It is relevant to mention that Dr Khalid Aftab is a former Vice-Chancellor of Government College University (GCU).
