Lahore faces blistering heat as mercury set to hit 45°C

A severe heatwave is expected to tighten its grip on Lahore in the coming days, with temperatures forecast to soar between 44 and 45 degrees Celsius, the Pakistan Meteorological Department warned, 24NewsHD TV reported on Tuesday. 

The Met Office said weather conditions in the city would remain hot and dry throughout the day, with intense and unrelenting sunshine expected to make temperatures feel significantly higher than normal. 

Health and weather experts have advised citizens to avoid all unnecessary outdoor activity during midday and afternoon hours.

Authorities have advised residents to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day, stay in shaded or cool areas whenever possible, and increase their intake of water and other fluids to prevent dehydration.
