Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has issued directives to the cabinet body to take appropriate measures to maintain law and order.

The committee and the inspector general of police should monitor the situation times and take appropriate measures to protect the life and property of the people.

He stressed those who take the law into their hands will be dealt with with iron hands. 

No one can be allowed to disrupt the peace under the guise of protest, he added.

Peaceful protest is everyone's right, but forcing people to shut their shops and attacks on public property will not be allowed.
