LHC orders immediate grand operation against smoke-emitting vehicles 

The Lahore High Court on Friday ordered immediate grand operation against smoke emitting vehicles, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

While hearing case related to smog remediation, Justice Shahid Karim court also ordered implementation of monitoring system for checking vehicles at toll plazas and for the purpose court ordered deployment of new squad of Environment Department at toll plazas.

Justice Shahid Karim ordered that action should be taken against smoke emitting vehicles on motorways through drone technology. 

If any smoke emitting vehicle tries to enter Lahore, action should be taken against it at the toll plaza itself, court ordered.

Court further ordered that smoke emitting vehicles should be stopped from entering motorways and Multan Road immediately and a report should be submitted.

Court remarked that those who construct eco-friendly buildings should be given tax relief and certificates, legalization should also be made.

It is time to install water meters for water conservation and until water meters are installed, people will not stop wasting water, Justice Shahid Karim remarked.

At least water meters should be installed on commercial buildings, Justice Shahid Karim further remarked.

October is coming, we will not even know, Environment Department should immediately activate smog checking equipment and vehicles, Court

Member Environmental Commission submitted the court that LDA has made a summary regarding providing relief to buildings constructed according to environmental laws and we asked them to make rules.

Justice Shahid Karim remarked that LDA will have to make tenders accordingly and also advertise it for environment-friendly building, so that people are aware, 

Justice Shahid Karim ordered that burning of crop residues must be stopped and if they will not stop it now, then when will they stop it. 

Tell DG Environment to deploy squads at toll plazas and take action against vehicles emitting smoke, court ordered.

Court further ordered that monitoring system and squads of Environment Department should be deployed at Lahore and Islamabad toll plazas. 

During hearing of court Principal MAO College submitted report regarding restoration of grounds and the other issues facing the college.

You should write down your complaints, the court will issue an order on it, Justice Shahid Karim's conversation with the principal.

If anyone makes a recommendation, show him that I have a court order, Justice Shahid Karim remarked.

Deputy Attorney General Asad Ali Bajwa, Members of the Environmental Commission, LDA, PHA and traffic representatives appeared in the court.

Court adjourns further hearing of the case till May 16.
