MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar, who appeared before an anti-terrorism court in Karachi on Saturday, said that now Karachi needs Rs300 billion annually instead of Rs162 billion it currently receives.

Talking to reporters outside the court, Farooq Sattar demanded cancellation of the FIR registered against the citizens over violation of WRONG WAY.

Responding to a question, Farooq Sattar said that Sindh Textbook Board is unduly amending the syllabus.

He also said that the residents of Orangi Town are being mocked as Bengali runaways. Those who are responsible should apologise, he added.

Criticising the federal government, Sattar said that the incompetency of the government had earlier caused wheat shortage, and now we’ve to face sugar and cotton-related crises.

Despite no development work, prices are soaring, he said and added the allocated development budget for Karachi should be increased to Rs300 billion annually.

On this occasion, another MQM leader Kunwar Naheed said the reports of the cracks in the party are baseless. Those who do not have anything to say readily contrive fictional stories about MQM, he maintained.

He added that the party put before Imran Khan 12 social issues, including MQM’s closed offices, but nothing happened.

MQM’s Khawaja Izhar ul Hassan said that the party is not involved in any discussion with PTI over ministries.
