Some unknown assailants on Monday opened fire in the vicinity of Mathra police station in Charsadda killing an assistant sub-inspector, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

Reportedly, ASI Imtiaz Khan who was deployed in Saro Killay police station was shot dead when some unknown motorcyclists opened fire in the area nearby Mathra police station in Charsadda.  
According to sources, the martyred police officer, Imtiaz was returning to Saro Killay police station from the Peshawar High Court (PHC) when he was murdered. He was investigating the case of a missing person.
