Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed visited Quetta on Wednesday and vowed to get Balochistan problem solved at the earliest. 

The Supreme Court (SC) protects the basic rights of people, he said insisting on ensuring the protection of self-respect of all the people.

About missing persons, he said no compromise would be made on the issue of missing persons.

He listed the feats of the judiciary saying commissions played a pivotal role in the recovery of missing people.

The CJ said virtual proceedings were being conducted to provide justice to the people, though corona pandemic slowed the pace of work.

The Secretary Public Health Engineering briefed the CJ-led bench that work has been underway on 100 projects of small dams in the province.

The shortage of water in Balochistan will come to an end with the completion of all projects of dams, the official said.

 Justice Gulzar Ahmed ordered an early start of the construction of the Winder dam and should be completed within a year.

He also directed completion of all dam projects in Balochistan within three years and warned against irresponsibility.

The bench sought report after every three months on Winder dam project. The court adjourned further hearing of the case for three months.
