Sarbaz Khan has set a new record by becoming the first Pakistani mountaineer to have scaled nine 8, 000 meters high summits, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

Sarbaz accomplished the feat by climbing Nepal’s 8, 167 meters high Dhaulagiri mountain, which is the seventh highest mountain in the world.

Previously the record was held by late Muhammad Ali Sadpara, who had scaled eight 8, 000 meters high mountains in the world.

Sarbaz also holds the record of being the first Pakistani to have reached Dhaulagiri mountain’s top.

He had begun his career by climbing the Nanga Parbat, which is considered to be one of the most hostile mountains in the world.

Prior to scaling Dhaulagiri, Sarbaz had reached the summits of K-2, Broad Peak, Lotse, Mount Everest and other mountains.

There are 14 mountains in the world whose height is 8, 000 meters and above.
