Galyat Development Authority (GDA) Friday closed the Ayubia Chairlift after declaring it extremely dangerous for the tourists.

According to the 24News HD TV Channel, GDA Spokesman Ahsan Hameed said in a statement that the Ayubia Chairlift was no longer safe for human lives so it had been closed for the tourists.

The GDA spokesman said continuing the services of the Ayubia Chairlift in the existing condition would be a big risk to human lives.

Hameed said the chairlift was installed at Ayubia in 1965 and it was tested by an international firm WPK in 2019 and declared dangerous in its report.
