An important meeting of members of the Balochistan Assembly, belonging to Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), was held in Quetta on Friday to discuss the no-trust move the opposition had presented against Chief Minister Jam Kamal, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Sources told 24News TV channel that opposition leader in the assembly Malik Iskandir, on the occasion, briefed the JUI-F Central Secretary General Senator Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri on the prevailing political situation in Balochistan.

Meetings with estranged members of the provincial government also came under discussion at the meeting so that the no-confidence move could be successful.

Over a week ago, on September 23, while rubbishing reports of his resignation, Balochistan Chief Minister (CM) Jam Kamal had expressed the resolve to face the no-trust motion courageously when it would be tabled in the provincial assembly.

In an interview with 24News, he had expressed the hope that he would complete the remaining two years of his stipulated five-year term as CM.

He said members of the Balochistan Assembly belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), National Party (NP) and Hazara Democratic Party (HDP) were with him. “However, some of these members have reservations which we will address,” he added.

Earlier this year, on May 19, 24News had reported that Balochistan Assembly (BA) Speaker Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo and disgruntled members of the provincial cabinet had decided to convene a meeting in the ongoing week to discuss the no-trust motion against Chief Minister Jam Kamal in the assembly.

Quoting sources, the TV channel reported that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Parliamentary Leader in the provincial assembly Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind, Saleh Bhotani, other ‘angry’ ministers and members of the assembly will attend the meeting.
