Pakistani archers make history with first-ever Asian-level medals
Sanober Ameen wins silver, Areeb Hussain claims bronze
Pakistani archers Sanober Ameen and Areeb Hussain have made history by winning the country’s first-ever medals at the Asian level, securing silver and bronze, respectively, at the WAA Asian Challenge Archery Championship.
Organised under the banner of World Archery Asia’s Joint Training Program, the prestigious championship was held in the South Korean city of Incheon and featured more than 80 archers from 17 countries across Asia.
National junior gold medallist Sanober Ameen earned the silver medal in the women’s team event, while Areeb Hussain Siddiqui clinched the bronze medal in the men’s team event.
Their achievements mark a historic milestone for Pakistan in the sport, as the country had never before won medals in an Asian-level archery competition.
