Mehsud tribes' elders in grand jirga promise cooperation with security forces until militancy ends
The elders of the Mehsud and Burki tribes reaffirmed their commitment to support Pakistan’s security forces until the elimination of the Khawarij militant threat during a grand jirga held in South Waziristan, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
According to the report, Inspector General Frontier Corps (KP South) attended the gathering as the chief guest.
The tribes' elders paid tribute to the Pakistan Army and FC for their sacrifices in restoring lasting peace, while the IGFC praised the unmatched contributions of the tribal communities in the fight against terrorism.
Addressing the youth, the IGFC urged them to resist hostile propaganda by anti-state elements.
He also assured the Mehsud tribes that work on the Gurbaz-to-Mangrotai road would begin soon.
The IGFC commended the achievements of local individuals excelling in various fields, calling their dedication and positive role a model for the entire region.
