Anwar Maqsood squashes abduction rumours
Renowned Pakistani humorist and writer Anwar Maqsood has refuted rumours circulating on social media about his abduction. Speaking at the 17th Urdu Conference in Karachi, Maqsood clarified that the reports about his abduction were completely false.
Maqsood who has spent over six decades in writing and performance, expressed regret if his words had unintentionally hurt anyone especially the martyrs. He emphasized that making fun of martyrs was never his intention.
Maqsood revealed that he had been receiving numerous phone calls from both Pakistan and abroad. He reassured his fans and the public, stating, " I have not been kidnapped."
Maqsood humorously announced that, while he had always made remarks about people in his work, he would refrain from discussing anyone further in future.
Maqsood also showed his deep respect for all state institutions, including the Armed Forces. He emphasized that his sarcastic remarks were intended for constructive criticism, not to insult anyone.
