Fazl threatens to march on Islamabad 

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has threatened to march on Islamabad to resolve tribal issues, asserting that while they remain loyal to Pakistan and its constitution, they will not accept forced decisions.

Addressing a tribal jirga in Peshawar, Fazlur Rehman said that the Pashtuns are an honourable nation and that tribal elders' decision to call a jirga is a commendable step.

He said tribal people must be taken on board while making decisions so that durable peace could be restored.

The JUI said the government has failed to maintain peace in the tribal belt. "There is no peace in tribal areas and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa today," he said, adding that without peace, human rights violations, unemployment, and economic instability continue.

"If we can march for religious seminaries, we can do the same for tribal rights," he stated, adding that history will judge those in power as oppressors.

He reaffirmed his party’s commitment to an Islamic system as per the constitution, arguing that no law should be made against Islam. 

He criticized the ruling elite, saying that when they demand adherence to constitutional principles, they are accused of attempting to divide the country.

Faz also accused the government of siding with the United States instead of standing with local people, citing Pakistan’s past support for US policies in Afghanistan. 

He condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s remarks about settling Israelis and warned against another potential US war in Afghanistan.
