Fire erupts in towel factory in Karachi

A massive fire broke out in a towel factory in Karachi on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The towel factory is located in Block No. 21 of the Federal B Area of Karachi. 

Five vehicles of the fire brigade department are taking part in the rescue operation to bring the fire under control.

According to initial reports, the blaze erupted inside the factory premises under circumstances that remained unclear.

Thick smoke was seen billowing from the building, causing panic among workers and residents in the surrounding area.

Firefighters were alerted soon after the incident was reported, and were dispatched to the site to control the flames.

Rescue officials said that firefighting operations were ongoing, with crews working to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby industrial units.

So far, no casualties or injuries have been reported, although rescue teams are continuing to assess the situation.

An investigation will be launched once the fire is brought under control to determine the exact cause of the incident and assess the extent of the damage.

Earlier, on January 9, 2026, a fire erupted in a cloth godown located in the residential area of Baldia Town of Karachi.

Five fire brigade vehicles reached the site and brought the fire under control. The godown was constructed in the area illegally. 

The firefighters faced difficulties in bringing the fire under control as the factory was located in a hilly area.  Residents of the area said that nobody was present at the site when the fire broke out.

Fire brigade personnel said that goods worth millions of rupees were destroyed in the fire incident.

Fire brigade personnel started an investigation to determine the real cause of the fire incident.
