The ongoing controversy surrounding singer Falak Shabir’s remarks "ban short dress" has sparked another round of debate online with actress Namrah offering her perspective on the matter.
During an interview, Namrah addressed criticism directed at celebrity couple Falak Shabir and Sarah Khan regarding their lifestyle and the upbringing of their daughters.
Namrah pointed out that the family spends a significant amount of time abroad, where societal norms and styles of dressing can be very different from those in Pakistan.
She also mentioned that a child’s values are shaped primarily by the environment provided at home rather than by external surroundings.
“Children adopt the culture that is given to them. They learn from the values and upbringing provided by their parents,” she said.
Namrah also noted that she does not believe Falak is entirely wrong.
According to her, preserving cultural and religious values is important and families should continue making efforts to remain connected to those principles.
At the same time, she defended Sarah Khan, praising the actress for the way she has conducted herself throughout her career.
Namrah highlighted that despite working in Pakistan’s entertainment industry for years Sarah has carried herself with dignity.
“Even when Sarah has taken on glamorous roles, she has done them with elegance, her fashion choices have always been tasteful and she has represented herself well,” Namrah remarked.
She went on to say that Falak Shabir should perhaps be the last person worried about such matters because his family environment already reflects the values he wishes to protect.
Praising Sarah’s family as well, Namrah credited their upbringing and values, stating that these qualities are evident in the way Sarah and her sisters present themselves publicly.
