I trust my upbringing: Nida Yasir on daughter choosing her own husband
Pakistani television host Nida Yasir has shared her thoughts on parenting, trust and marriage on her morning show.
Nida revealed that she would support her daughter if she chose to marry someone she genuinely liked.
Nida Yasir aslo spoke about the importance of raising children with awareness, confidence and a strong sense of judgment.
According to her, parents should focus on giving their daughters enough understanding and guidance so that when they eventually make important life decisions, those choices can be trusted.
The morning show host explained that if her daughter were to develop feelings for someone and express a desire to marry him, she would naturally consider her daughter's wishes.
Nida noted that while fathers may sometimes focus more on practical considerations and other aspects of a potential match, her perspective as a mother is closely tied to her daughter's happiness and personal preference.
She mentioned that she has always respected her daughter's choices throughout her life, whether related to clothing, education or other personal decisions.
Because of that, she believes it would be inconsistent to suddenly oppose her daughter's choice when it comes to selecting a life partner.
Nida also highlighted the role of upbringing in building trust between parents and children.
She expressed confidence in the values and guidance she has provided, saying she believes her daughter would make a thoughtful and responsible decision when choosing a partner.
The discussion further touched on the importance of exposing children to the realities of the world rather than keeping them overly sheltered.
Nida shared that she has encouraged her daughter to learn, grow and understand different perspectives through education and life experiences.
According to the television personality, good parenting is not about controlling every decision a child makes but about equipping them with the knowledge to distinguish between right and wrong.
When children are raised with proper guidance and trust, she believes parents can feel more comfortable supporting their decisions.
