Attempt to smuggle 10 kgs of silver foiled in Karachi

Police have foiled an attempt to smuggle 10 kilograms of silver biscuits and arrested two accused in Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

On a tip-off, SITE B Police conducted an operation near Hub River Road and arrested the accused.

Earlier, on February 18, 2026, Pakistan Customs officials recovered six kilograms of silver biscuits from a woman arriving from Dubai at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi during a targeted operation.

According to customs authorities, the seized silver is estimated to be worth around Rs7 million. The recovery was made during checking procedures after the passenger landed in the country.

The officials confirmed that the silver has been taken into custody and a case has been registered under the Customs Act of 1969.

The woman has also been detained, and further investigations are underway to determine the details of the smuggling attempt and whether more people were involved.

The authorities stated that strict monitoring at airports is continuing to prevent the illegal transportation of valuable items and to curb smuggling activities.
