IHC issues contempt notices to interior secretary, IGP

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday issued contempt notices to the interior secretary and Islamabad inspector general of police (IGP), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The IHC issued a written order and directed the IHC registrar to inquire into the allegations of torture of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and lawyers.

The court also directed the IHC registrar to get a first information report (FIR) registered against those involved in the alleged torture.

The court adjourned further hearing of the case till May 16 next.

It is to be noted here that PTI Chairman Imran Khan had been arrested by Rangers from the premises of the IHC.
