By releasing satellite images on Thursday, the American space agency NASA exposes Pakistan’s failure to stop crop residue burning in different cities of the country.

According to the 24News HD TV chancel, the administration failed to take action against those who burn crop residue in different cities of Punjab including Lahore, Narowal, Jaranwala, Sheikhupura, Hafizabad, Chiniot, Okara, Khanewal, and Jhang.

The channel report said that the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has released satellite images of crop residue burning in Lahore and other areas of Punjab province.

In the satellite images released on Thursday, areas highlighted in red in the images indicated fires have been lit and engulfed in smog.

The NASA images show fires in Gujranwala, Narowal, Jaranwala, Sheikhupura, Hafizabad, Chiniot, Okara, Khanewal, Multan, and Jhang districts.

Incidents like the burning of crop residues are not being controlled in different districts of the agriculture-based province despite the clear orders of the Punjab government.
