The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday issued notice to former president and military ruler Pervez Musharraf for not submitting the election details of All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), his political party, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

ECP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Member Irshad Qaiser questioned the APML lawyer that party elections were supposed to be held on September 5 so what about them, to which the APML lawyer replied that the party elections had been conducted.

To another question by the ECP member, the secretary AMPL replied after Musharraf’s resignation as party leader Hidayatullah became the party president but he had also resigned and in September 5 elections the party cabinet again chose Pervez Musharraf as APML’s new president.

The ECP KP member warned the APML lawyer that if by the next hearing he could not be able to give a proper answer the ECP could take back the APML party symbol as well.

The case hearing has been adjourned indefinitely.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) hearing a disqualification petition against Federal Minister Khusro Bakhtiar and Punjab Finance Minister Hashim Bakht issued notices to both on Thursday. The next hearing of the case is set for September 28.

Petitioner Ahsan Abid Advocate from Rahim Yar Khan has also filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking a review of the decision of the Election Tribunal. Khusro Bakhtiar and Hashim Jawan Bakht have been accused of hiding their assets and not stating the facts.
