Punjab Police Inspector General (IG) Inam Ghani on Thursday presided over the first video link conference and meeting of Lahore Police officers at the Central Police Office.
Speaking on the occasion, he said no stone should be left unturned to bring to justice the rapists of a woman in Gujjarpura, a locality in Lahore. The meeting decided to increase police patrol on roads and highways passing through less populated areas.
“Punjab Police aims to provide the best service delivery to citizens and eradicate criminal elements while maintaining the rule of law in society. Senior officers should promote a sense of security in the society using modern and public friendly policing,” he said. He said that no effort should be spared to bring those involved in the rape of a woman in Gujjarpura to justice.
If any such an incident takes place in future, local police officers shall be accountable. He stressed that police patrol system should be made more effective by increasing patrol on less-populated highways so that such heinous incidents can be prevented in future.
