Islamabad High Court (IHC) Saturday suspended the notification of acceptance of resignations of 11 PTI Members of the National Assembly, reported 24NewsHd TV channel.

The IHC has suspended the notification of approval of the resignations of the Election Commission as Chief Justice Athar Minallah issued orders on the request of PTI member Abdul Shakoor.

The ECP accepted the resignations of 11 PTI MNAs after they were sent by Speaker of National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf. These include nine MNAs on general seats while two on reserved seats.

The resignations of Ali Muhammad Khan, Fazal Muhammad Khan, Shaukat Ali, Fakhar Zaman Khan, Ijaz Ahmed Shah, Jameel Ahmed Khan, Muhammad Akram Cheema, Abdul Shakur Shad, Farrukh Habib, Shireen Mazari and Shandana Gulzar were accepted.

The Election Commission of Pakistan had already started the procedure to hold by-elections on nine general seats where PTI chief Imran Khan was the lone candidate from PTI in all these constituencies.

However, the ECP has postponed the by-elections on all seats now due to the current situation of floods in the country.
