Committee formed for building narrative against terrorism, extremism

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Wednesday notified the constitution of NPAC, a committee for building a national narrative, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

The committee, headed by the minister for information and broadcasting, will build a narrative at the national level against extremism, terrorism, sectarianism and provocative speeches.

Religious scholars, belonging to different schools of thought as well as representatives of minority communities, will be its members. 

Its members will be Senator Hafiz Abdul Karim, Mufti Abdur Rahim, Allama Arif Hussain Wahidi, Pir Naqeebur Rehman, Allama Muhammad Hussain Akbar, Dr. Muhammad Raghib Hussain Naeemi, Maulana Tahir Mehmood Ashraf, Maulana Tayyab Panj Peeri and Allama Ziaullah Shah Bukhari.

From minorities, Bishop Azad Marshal, Rajesh Kumar Hardasani and Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora.  

The committee, at its first meeting, will devise detailed rules, which will then be submitted to the National Committee on Narrative Building for its approval.
