Bilawal Bhutto tears apart PDM’s show-cause notice in CEC meeting
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Sunday tore up the show-cause notice issued to his party by the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) over Senate opposition leader appointment, 24 News HD TV reported.
He did this while presiding over the PPP’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting in Karachi. According to sources, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari read the show-cause notice during the meeting. PML-N’s Shahid Khaqan Abbasi served the notice on the PPP.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari tore up the show-cause notice of the PDM. The participants of the meeting commended the act of Bilawal Bhutto, sources said. Bilawal said, “We do politics for honor, nothing is more than the respect.”
Speaking on the occasion, former prime minister and Opposition Leader in Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani offered his resignation from the Senate seat. He said that the PPP gave sacrifices for the democracy in the country. He denied the PDM’s allegation on the PPP. The PPP leaders asked Gilani to carry on his job.
A meeting of the opposition alliance headed by JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman had issued a show-cause notice to the PPP and ANP to explain their positions over deviating from the PDM’s decision to support the PML-N candidate as the opposition leader in the Senate.
The Awami National Party (ANP) last week had announced parting ways with the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) after the former was served a show-cause notice over supporting PPP in the appointment of opposition leader in Senate.
“I being a vice president of the ANP announces to part ways with the PDM,” MNA Ameer Haider Hoti announced the decision in a presser saying that certain political groups have hijacked the opposition alliance.
