Soon after the violent incident outside the NAB Lahore office on Tuesday, PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and Maryam had a telephonic contact, as he instructed her to remain in touch with the injured and arrested party workers.
Also, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman called Maryam and discussed the latest situation developing out of the police action and the government strategy.
During the telephonic conversation, Maryam shared details of the incident and said they were pelted with stones, adding that the incompetent rulers hid behind the NAB.
Reacting to the brute use of force and arrests by the police, PML-N Shehbaz Sharif in a statement said the NAB-Niazi nexus’ fascism and authoritarianism was a condemnable and shameful practice.
He said Imran Niazi was moving on a negative, illegal and political victimisation path against political rivals, but added that they had neither surrender before fascism in the past nor would in the future.
Similarly, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari condemned “the unnecessary use of force” against Maryam and her party workers.

On the other hand, PML-N Spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said the fascist and rejected rulers were making a failed attempt the march of masses and party workers. Maryam’s vehicle was targeted with stones under a plan, she said, adding that a wrong impression had been created that the episode was triggered by the PML-N workers.
