Pakistan Quarters residents get 54-year lease

Meeting a 26-year old demand of thousands of people of Karachi, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday granted Pakistan Quarters to its residents on lease for a period of 54 years by paying Rs413 million, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
People had been waiting for the lease of their quarters since 1995.
The prime minister gave orders on the request by Member of Sindh Assembly belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Jamal Siddiqui.
The federal government also plans to develop a housing scheme on the Pakistan Quarters’ land under the ‘Nya Pakistan Housing Project’ as suggested by the dwellers of Quarters.
