U19 Asia Cup 2023: Azan Awais'ton guides Pak to easy win aginst India

In a thrilling encounter at the U19 Asia Cup in Dubai on Sunday, Azan Awais showcased exceptional batting prowess, steering Pakistan to a convincing 8-wicket triumph over India in the fifth match of the tournament.

Azan's remarkable century, complemented by fifties from Shahzaib Khan and Saad Baig, guided Pakistan to successfully chase down a challenging target of 260 runs with eight wickets in hand.

The victory solidifies Pakistan's position at the top of Group A, boasting two consecutive wins, while India suffered its first defeat in two matches.

Despite the early loss of opener Shamyl Husain, Shahzaib Khan (63) and Azan formed a formidable partnership, amassing 110 runs for the second wicket in 140 balls, setting the stage for a comprehensive chase.

Captain Saad Baig (68) joined Azan, contributing an unbeaten effort that ensured Pakistan crossed the finish line with ease.

Earlier in the day, India, put into bat, faced a challenging situation after losing opener Arshin Kulkarni early in the PowerPlay. Adarsh Singh (62) and Uday Saharan (60) provided resistance with a 93-run partnership for the third wicket. However, Mohammad Zeeshan's four-wicket haul played a crucial role as Pakistan restricted India to a total of 259/9.

Despite a valiant effort from the Indian batsmen, the well-coordinated bowling attack and the stellar performance by Azan Awais secured a memorable victory for Pakistan in the U19 Asia Cup.
