How much does State Bank Governor Reza Baqir earn?

Ministry of Finance Friday presented before Senate the documents of salary and benefits of Governor State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Reza Baqir, which stated the SBP Governor is being paid Rs2.5 million per month, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

As per the document, Governor SBP had remained an employee of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for 18 years.

The documents stated that the salary of the Governor SBP increases by 10 per cent on annual basis.

The Governor SBP is provided furnished house or equivalent rent and repair facilities, stated the documents.

The documents read that the Governor SBP has two cars along with a driver. 

Reza Baqir is being facilitated with a volume of 600-litre petrol, the documents added.

According to the documents, Governor SBP has been provided with the expenses of power, gas, water and generator.

The school fees of Baqir’s children are being paid up to 75 per cent. The Governor SBP has also free access to landline, mobile phone and internet services.

As per the documents, Reza Baqir could keep up to four employees. Each of the Governor’s employees is being paid Rs18,000 per month.

Reza Baqir has access to security and security guards for 24 hours, the documents stated.

Governor SBP has access to complete medical treatment, the documents stated. Reza Baqir has a facility of holiday thrice per month.

In case of the Governor’s travel, Reza along family are being provided with air tickets and the facility of shifting luggage. 

Governor SBP is being facilitated along with the monthly charges of the club.
