Senior Management Course made mandatory for Grade 20 promotions

The Establishment Division has declared the Senior Management Course (SMC) mandatory for the promotion of government officers to Grade 20 and has withdrawn the nominations of 15 Grade 19 officers for the 39th Senior Management Course.

According to details, the withdrawn nominations include five officers from the Pakistan Administrative Service, seven from the Police Service, two from the Secretariat Group and one from the Audit and Accounts Service.

Among those whose nominations were withdrawn are DG of Wildlife and Parks Government of Punjab, Mobin Elahi; DG of Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA), Farrukh Atiq Khan; Deputy Commissioner of Khanewal, Maleeha Rashid; DG of Punjab Housing Town Planning Agency (PHATA), Muhammad Sikandar Zeeshan; Provincial Coordinator of EOC Health Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shafiullah Khan; and Director General of Sindh Safe Cities Authority, Sarfaraz Nawaz.

The nominations of several police officers were also withdrawn, including DPO Khanewal Ismail-ur-Rehman, CPO Rawalpindi Khalid Mehmood Hamdani, DPO Sargodha Muhammad Sohaib Ashraf and SSPC TD Punjab Lahore Captain (R) Wahid Mehmood.

In addition, the nomination of Muhammad Masoom was withdrawn with a notification placed at the disposal of the FIA. Director FIA Multan Zone Atta-ur-Rehman’s nomination was also withdrawn, along with Amjad Hafeez at the FIA’s disposal. Raheel Ahmed Cheema’s nomination was withdrawn at the disposal of the NDMA.

Member Finance CDA Islamabad, Tahir Naeem Akhtar, also had his nomination withdrawn.

The Establishment Division has sent a letter in this regard to the Rector of the National School of Public Policy. The 39th Senior Management Course is scheduled to run from January 19 to May 8, 2026.
