PCB mulls tri-nation T20I series with Afghanistan and UAE ahead of Asia Cup

Pakistan is reportedly considering converting its upcoming bilateral T20 series with Afghanistan into a tri-nation T20I series involving  Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

This tri-nation T20I series is likely to be played in the UAE ahead of the Asia Cup. 

According to sources, the move is being evaluated in the context of Asia Cup preparations.

Originally, Afghanistan was scheduled to tour Pakistan in August for a three-match T20I series.

However, with the Asia Cup looming on the horizon, cricket officials are now contemplating a broader competitive framework.

Discussions are currently ongoing among the cricket boards of Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the UAE to finalize the tournament, transitioning from a bilateral series to a tri-nation format.

An official announcement is expected once a final agreement is reached.

 Sources indicated that the proposal is receiving serious consideration, especially as the UAE is being eyed as a potential neutral host for the Asia Cup.

If the tri-nation series is confirmed, it would not only provide a much-needed platform for team preparations but also reinvigorate cricketing relations among Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the UAE.
