Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meeting starts for moon sighting

The meeting of Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has started in Peshawar after Maghrab prayers for sighting of Ramazan moon - for Hijri year 1445, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

The Committee Chairman Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad is presiding over the meeting in Peshawar. The Committee members Dr. Muhammad Hussain Akbar and Syed Mushahid Hussain are also present in the meeting.  

Director General of Religious Affairs of Pakistan Maulana Muhammad Ashraf Ali, Mufti Faisal Ahmed, Mufti Muhammad Yusuf Kashmiri, Maulana Abdul Rauf Madani,  Mufti Ali Asghar Attari and Maulana Muhammad Yasin Zafar are also participating in the meeting.

Additionally, Maulana Allama Pir Syed Shahid Ali Jilani, Maulana Hafiz Abdul Ghafoor and Mufti Qari Mehrullah are also are attending the huddle.

SPARCO representative Ghulam Murtaza is also participating in the  conference.

Meetings of other zonal and district Ruet-e-Hilal Committees have also been started simultaneously at their headquarters in Lahore, Karachi, Quetta and Islamabad.

The final announcement regarding the moon will be made by the chairman himself, based on testimonies received from different parts of the country.

The meteorological department has already predicted the sighting of the Ramazan moon on March 11.
