Balochistan govt approves austerity package, launches EV Bike scheme  

  The Balochistan Cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has approved a wide-ranging austerity package to reduce government expenditures and conserve fuel amid global and regional economic challenges.

Under these measures, members of the provincial assembly will take a twenty five percent voluntary reduction in salaries.

The cabinet announced that provincial ministers, advisers, and parliamentary secretaries will also voluntarily forgo two months of salaries while government officers in Grade 20 and above will contribute two days’ salary.

Meanwhile, Balochistan Government has also launched EV Bikes instalment scheme for working women and students. CM Sarfraz Bugti and his cabinet members were present on the occasion. 

Under the scheme, 20,000 bikes will be distributed. The price of one electric bike has been fixed atRs175000. The Balochistan government will provide a subsidy of Rs. 52,500 per bike. Applications can be made on the online portal to get an electric bike.
