Faysal Quraishi slams Adnan Faisal over Hania Amir podcast charges
Esteemed Pakistani actor Faysal Quraishi has weighed in on the ongoing debate surrounding actress Hania Aamir and the hefty fee she reportedly demanded to appear on a podcast hosted by Adnan Faisal.
A video circulating on Instagram shows Quraishi addressing the controversy during a Ramzan transmission he was hosting, where discussions often revolve around trending topics and past showbiz controversies.
In the viral clip, Quraishi directly questioned Faisal about the issue, saying, “You had a payment issue with someone. An artist demanded two million from you. Please tell us something about it.”
Responding to the query, Faisal said that if Hania Aamir had asked for Rs2 million, it was entirely her choice.
However, he added that his platform had never paid such an amount to any guest. “It is her choice if she asked for two million. We haven’t paid that much amount to anyone,” he stated.
Quraishi, however, defended the actress and her market value, saying that Hania Aamir is a major star who deserves such compensation. He pointed out that having her on the show could have significantly boosted its reach and viewership.
“Hania Aamir is a big star who actually deserves two million. It could have been a bigger achievement for you if she had graced your show. The views could have gone into millions,” Quraishi remarked, although Faisal did not appear to agree with his perspective.
The actor further added that artists like himself usually do not charge such high fees because they primarily operate within the local industry. In contrast, he described Hania Aamir as an international star with a much broader audience.
“We don’t take that much money because we are local stars. Hania Aamir has international reach. She is a bigger star than us and there is no doubt about it. We are local stars, while she is international,” he said.
Lately, The controversy surfaced when podcast host Adnan Faisal revealed during a show hosted by Mathira that a payment of Rs2 million had been requested for Hania Aamir to appear on his podcast. Faisal clarified that his platform traditionally does not pay celebrities for guest appearances and that the same policy applied in this case as well.
“All stars are stars,” Faisal said, explaining that paying one celebrity could set an unfair precedent for others invited to the platform.
