Former Punjab Governor Umar Sarfraz Cheema has announced resistance against the government’s actions against him and said, "He is not Usman Buzdar who will leave his office quietly.”
According to the 24News HD TV channel, Umar Cheema addressed a press conference in Islamabad on Wednesday and said his office has been taken hostage by making Punjab police a bullying force.
He said he had written a letter to the Interior Ministry as Punjab governor to provide security of FC and Rangers because Punjab Police is not obeying his orders.
Cheema said his office and vehicles have been taken away from him but as long as he is here he will continue to fulfil his constitutional responsibilities.
He said that a circus is continuing in Punjab where two Chief Ministers are existing and a new Chief Minister has been elected to the post of Punjab Chief Minister which was not vacant.
Cheema said after consulting the constitutional team, they have come to the conclusion that the lawyers of PML-N have deceived the judiciary and did not inform the judges that their own leaders Kh Asif and Saad Rafique have already declared their resignation of Usman Buzdar unconstitutional. He urged the lawyers’ community to take action against these lawyers who deceived the honourable court.
