Aleema Khan negotiates release of 8 PTI workers from police custody

In a positive development late Tuesday evening, negotiations between the Rawalpindi police and PTI leader Aleema Khan concluded successfully, leading to the release of eight detained party workers.

According to official sources, the discussions were held to ease tensions that had arisen earlier in the day following the detention of several Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters. After productive talks, police agreed to release all arrested individuals, marking a breakthrough in ongoing efforts to maintain peace and order in the city.

Following the talks, Aleema Khan, along with Uzma Khan and Noreen Khan, safely returned from the Gorakhpur checkpoint, where they had been stopped earlier. The situation at the site has since returned to normal, officials confirmed.

However, PTI representatives reported that no one was permitted to meet the party’s founder today. Despite that, party leaders described the day’s outcome as a “step in the right direction” toward resolving outstanding issues through dialogue.

Authorities have urged all sides to continue cooperating to ensure calm and avoid further confrontations.
