Heavy rain with thunder in Lahore and other parts of the province Tuesday turned the weather pleasant and improved the situation with respect to smog in Punjab, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The first rain of the winter season forced citizens to wear warmer clothes as the mercury level in Lahore, Faisalabad and Islamabad capital slightly dropped due to rain.

Heavy rain with thunder also hit Islamabad, turning the weather cold and inundating the roads. Traffic jams in some areas were also witnessed during the rains.

Islamabad is expected to remain partly cloudy with light rain on Tuesday night too.

On the other hand, dry weather is likely to prevail in most plain parts of the country during the next twelve hours.

Rain with wind and thunderstorms is expected at isolated places in Abbottabad, Upper Punjab, Upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.

Temperatures of some major cities recorded this morning:

Islamabad is twenty-two-degree centigrade, Murree fifteen, Lahore twenty-four, Karachi twenty-seven, Peshawar twenty-six, Quetta twelve, Gilgit fourteen and Muzaffarabad twenty degree centigrade.

According to the Met Office forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, partly cloudy weather with chances of rain, wind and thundershower is expected in Srinagar, Jammu, Anantnag, Baramulla, Leh, Pulwama and Shopian.
