Ameema Saleem challenges ‘Love or Career’ mindset with bold take
Pakistani rising star Ameema Saleem has shared a refreshing perspective on the age old debate between love and career, firmly rejecting the idea that a person should have to sacrifice their dreams for a relationship.
A viral video from Ameema’s latest appearance on Fuchsia Magazine, hosted by Rabia Mughni, has been making the rounds on social media, where the emerging actress opened up about her priorities, love and the importance of pursuing one’s dreams.
During the conversation, Rabia asked Ameema whether she could live without love or without achieving her dreams. Ameema immediately replied, “No.”
Taking the conversation further, Rabia asked whether she would be willing to leave her career for love.
Explaining her perspective, Ameema said that someone who genuinely loves you would never put you in a position where you have to abandon your ambitions for the sake of the relationship.
“There’s a reason for that. I feel that if someone loves you a lot, they will never put you in such a position. And if they don’t think that way, then they are not the right person for you,” Ameema explained.
She further pointed out that forcing someone to give up their dreams can ultimately change the very person their partner fell in love with in the first place.
“If you love someone and they let go of their dreams, the person you are left with won’t even be the person you loved in the first place,” she remarked.
Ameema also questioned the mindset that treats love and ambition as mutually exclusive choices.
She argued that it should not be considered wrong or unrealistic for two people to prioritise both their relationship and their individual aspirations.
According to the actress, believing that one must choose either love or dreams is simply a “mental block.”
“This is a mental block why can’t someone carry both things together?” she questioned.
Ameema’s candid perspective resonated as a modern take on relationships, emphasising that genuine love should encourage personal growth rather than demand the abandonment of individual goals.
The young actress has been gradually making her presence felt in the Pakistani entertainment scene, attracting attention with her screen appearances and candid conversations. Her latest remarks have added another dimension to her public persona, showcasing a thoughtful and independent outlook beyond her on-screen work.
