Sindh Assembly extends deployment of Rangers in province for another year

 The Sindh Assembly has passed a resolution extending the deployment and powers of the Rangers for another year. A resolution was passed to extend the Rangers' deployment in Sindh from July 20, 2026, to July 19, 2027.

The deployment of the Rangers to assist the civil administration has been extended for another year. The Sindh government has passed a resolution extending the Rangers' deployment by one year. The extension of the Rangers' deployment has been made under Article 147 of the Constitution.

Resolution was passed unanimously to continue the deployment of Rangers in Sindh in view of the law and order situation. The resolution states that the reduction in target killings and street crime is the result of Rangers' operations. The resolution notes that the activities of proscribed organizations and fugitive suspects pose a threat to security. 

The resolution affirms that the presence of Rangers is essential for public peace and the protection of life and property. The resolution highlights the significant role played by Rangers, alongside the police, in intelligence-based operations.
