Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Transport Minister and PTI leader Malik Shah Mohammad Khan in a bid to shun the criticism of Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit has invited top leaders of the opposition parties to Peshawar BRT’s opening ceremony to be held on August 13 (Thursday), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The transport minister reached the Parliament House in Islamabad on Wednesday to extend invitations to the opposition leaders himself for the inauguration ceremony.

PTI leader Shah Mohammad Khan invited PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

Talking to media persons outside the opposition leader’s chamber, the minister said, “The PTI government started the project which was severely criticized by the opposition due to delays in its completion. Today, I invited all the opposition leaders to the inaugural ceremony of BRT Peshawar. They should come, see and then make their judgments about the project.”

It is pertinent to note that 27.5km long BRT has a main track and 31 stations and the length of feeder routes is 62km with 146 stops. The main track is connected to seven different areas of the city and about 60,000 Zu cards (travelling cards).
