Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif along with his Finance Minister Ishaq Dar assured the nation in a joint press conference on Monday that with Almighty Allah’s will, Pakistan will not default.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, PM Shehbaz talking to media in Islamabad said the International Monetary Fund (IMF) was not ready to be trusted with his government so it has taken many assurances due to the poor performance of the previous government of Imran Khan.

Shehbaz Sharif said Imran Khan wanted Pakistan to become Sri Lanka and they sacrificed politics to save the state.

PM Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and his followers did nothing but make accusations against opponents.

Regarding the energy crisis, the PM criticized Imran Khan’s policies and said the previous government was asleep when the cheapest gas was available.

He said selling a watch having an image of Khana Kaaba on it was a bad move. Shahbaz Sharif urged Imran Khan that if he true then sue Financial Times.

PM Shehbaz said former Prime Minister Imran Khan Niazi did the biggest fraud of 50 billion in his previous government.

PM Shehbaz Sharif said new Army Chief General Asim Munir is a professional soldier who will strengthen institutions.

The PM said the new army chief will serve the country fully while living within limits. He said for the sake of the development of Pakistan, our egos must be killed.

Talking about the Daily Mail’s apology matter, PM Shehbaz Sharif said the newspaper’s management used delay tactics but now apologized unconditionally to the entire Pakistani nation.

Shehbaz Sharif said British National Crime Agency has given them a clean chit and former justice Shaukat Aziz Saddiqui’s statement and all the facts from Panama Papers to Iqama are before the nation in which Mian Nawaz Sharif and his family were tried to defame.

PM Shehbaz declared Imran Khan an egotistic, a liar, and a fraud and rejected negotiations with him by saying what will you negotiate with someone who defames the country?

The PM said that Imran Khan has not only sold the watch but also shown fake receipts of it, adding that the person to whom he claimed to sell the gifted watch also denied it.

Shehbaz said Imran Khan has given NRO to his sister but arrested Maryam Nawaz Sharif and sent her behind the bars.

He said former Pak army chief Gen Bajwa was the benefactor of Imran Khan, but he proved himself a thankless person.

PM Shehbaz confirmed that Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar held a meeting with President Dr Arif Alvi with his permission.

Addressing the media, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said PTI’s previous government ruined the Pak economy by taking record loans and devaluing the Pakistani currency.

Dar said Imran asked the donors not to give a single penny to Pakistan but a restoration of the IMF program saved the country from default.

Ishaq Dar said there are economic difficulties but Pakistan will not default. He said it is being presented as a campaign that Pakistan will default but such a desire of Imran Khan to default will not be fulfilled.

He said Imran Khan's previous government has set a new record of mismanagement in the history of Pakistan and it took a year to decide whether to go to the IMF or not.

The Finance Minister termed the smuggling the main reason for high rates of dollars in the grey market and said a crackdown has been started to stop the smuggling of it.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar also announced that they will seal the border if necessary to stop the smuggling of dollars.
