Parvez Elahi, Dost Mazari deliberate upon Senate vote strategy

Acting Speaker of Punjab Assembly Sardar Dost Mazari called on Acting Governor Chaudhry Parvez Elahi at his residence on Friday.
Senate election strategy, provincial assembly affairs and current political circumstances came under discussion during the meeting.
Parvez Elahi said the coalition partners are contesting the Senate vote jointly so that desired goals could be achieved.
All parties have stepped up campaign after the release of the election schedule, he said adding that the Senate vote will set a new direction for the country.
Progress on power projects
Wapda Chairman Lt-Gen (r) Muzzammil Hussain called on Parvez Elahi and briefed him about the ongoing power projects. Mohmand and Dasu will be completed by 2025 and Diamer Bhasha Dam by 2028, he said.
Parvez praised the Wapda chairman and stressed that timely completion of the dams will help get over electricity shortfall and abundant water for irrigation. Wapda Secretary Fakhruz Zaman Cheema, Punjab Assembly Secretary Muhammad Khan Bhatti and GM Sikandar were also present.
