Sindh professors reach Benazir Park for protest sit-in

College professors from all over Sindh have reached Benazir Park at Bay Boat Basin in Karachi for a protest sit-in, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday. 

According to Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association (SPLA) the protesters will go to Bilawal House, but a heavy police force has been deployed around Bilawal House. 

The protesters said that if the route is blocked, they will cross every obstacle and reach outside Bilawal House in any case and get their protest recorded.

A written complaint will be made to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for the Sindh government's neglect of colleges.

The Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association said only, the 5-tier formula is not our goal, we have other demands as well, they should be looked into as well.   

The Association President demanded to improve the dilapidated colleges of Sindh and the education system should be improved.

SPLA demanded to hold DPC of lecturers immediately on thousands of vacant posts.

Meetings of Board One and Board Two should be called, SPLA demanded.

SPLA further demanded that SNE should be reviewed according to the student-teacher ratio.

SPLA also demanded to establish new colleges, especially computer science colleges and shortage of teaching staff in colleges should be resolved immediately

SPLA also demanded to fill the shortage of infrastructure, furniture and lab equipment in colleges and books of computer science and commerce subjects should be released. 

No principal has been appointed in more than half of the colleges in Sindh for several months, President SPLA said.
