Two robbers were killed in a ‘shootout’ with police near suburban 16/1R village, located in the jurisdiction of Sitghira police station in Renala Khurd, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

According to police, four robbers were looting people at gunpoint by putting obstacles on the road.

On information, police reached the spot, but the robbers started indiscriminate firing as soon as they saw the police.

The police also fired back in retaliation, and when the firing stopped, the police found two robbers dead who had been killed in firing by their own accomplices.

However, two of the robbers managed to escape from the scene.

A heavy contingent of Renala Khurd police cordoned off the area and launched a search for their arrest.

Identity of the deceased robbers was yet to be ascertained.
