Police constable martyred by dacoits in Rawalpindi

Yet another jawan of the Punjab Police laid down his life while performing his duties, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

Constable Syed Sajjad Hussain Shah was martyred when dacoits opened fire at him in Rawalpindi, prompting Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, to take notice of the incident and seek a report from RPO Babar Sarfaraz besides ordering CPO Khalid Hamdani to ensure the arrest of the assassins at the earliest.

Later, the funeral prayers for the martyred cop, who was a brother of SHO Saddar Wah Syed Aftab Shah, were offered at the Police Lines in Rawalpindi.  

Among others, the prayers were attended by the RPO and the CPO.

The body of the deceased was then sent to his native village Jangi Syedan in Chontra for burial.
