Punjab govt completes outsourcing of 81 Basic Health Units

Punjab Health Department has completed the outsourcing of 81 Basic Health Units (BHU) as after thorough investigation the government has released the lists of doctors who had obtained these hospitals, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel. 

Under Maryam Nawaz Hospital project, the process for outsourcing of 315 rural health centers was started by the government but till now only 81 rural health centers have been given to doctors on contract. 

Under the scheme the government will provide monthly funds of up to Rs 7.4 million to run the rural health centers. 

Five BHUs of Lahore including Rural Health Center at Awan Dhawala, Rural Health Centers Burki, Chung, Manga Mandi and Raiwind have been given on contract. 

Moreover Bahawalpur’s 4 BHUs, Bahawalnagar 2, Chakwal 1, Chiniot 2, DG Khan 1, and Faisalabad 4 Basic Health Units have been given on contract. Gujranwala 8, Kasur 9, Khanewal 5, Layyah 1, Lodhran 1, Mianwali 1, Multan 5, Muzaffargarh 3, Narowal 1, Okara 6, Pattuki 1, Rahim Yar 8, Rajanpur 1, Sahiwal 2, Sargodha 1, Sheikhupura 4, Sialkot 3, Toba Tek Singh 1 and one rural health center in Vehari have been outsourced.
