PM Shehbaz invites PPP to form govt in Gilgit-Baltistan after electoral majority
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has invited the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) to form the government in Gilgit-Baltistan after it emerged as the majority party in the general elections, 24NewsHD TV reported.
In an official statement issued on Friday, the prime minister said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) fully supports the PPP in the process of government formation in Gilgit-Baltistan.
He announced that the PML-N has decided to sit in the opposition in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly; however, its elected members will vote in favor of the PPP to enable it to form the government.
“This decision has been taken in line with democratic traditions and values,” the prime minister said, adding that the PML-N has always maintained respectful relations with its allied parties.
