Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has said that the government can call in the Army for its aid under Article 245 but that stage has not yet arrived, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Talking to the media in Quetta on Saturday, Sheikh Rashid predicted that the Opposition’s no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan will fall flat.

He warned the Opposition to demonstrate patience and prudence otherwise “Their way of one year may stretch to 10 years.”

The minister further said that PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif is in a better position to talk about peon Maqsood because he is his close aide.

He stressed that Insarul Islam, Baitul Islam or any other private militia will not be allowed to violate any law.

“The Opposition after conceding defeat will work on the same ‘salary’. We have to move towards defusing the situation as the Opposition is bound to lose and will again come after us,” he observed.

He disclosed that JUI leader Maulana Ghafoor Haider had also complained to him about the prime minister’s statement against Maulana Fazlur Rehman during their flight to Quetta.

Aamir Liaquat flays ‘Maula Jutt’

Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain has criticized Sheikh Rasheed for acting a ‘macho man’ in his public appearances.

In a tweet, he said Sheikh Rasheed should act like an interior minister not as Maula Jutt.
