KEMU conducts 19th JCAT Examination

On the direction of the Minister Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department Prof Javed Akram, Secretary SHC&ME Dr Ahmed Javed Qazi, the King Edward Medical University conducted the 19th JCAT examination.

This exam is held for the induction of postgraduate trainees of all the public sector institutions of Punjab.

Considering the convenience and number of candidates from South Punjab, the exam was held simultaneously at Lahore and Multan Centres as instructed by the Secretary SHC&MED.

The exam was held in the 11 halls at the Lahore centre and 7 halls at the Multan centre.

A total of 2357 candidates for MS/MD appeared at the Lahore centre and 1027 candidates at the Multan Centre. Moreover, 114 MDS candidates and 170 foreign doctors also appeared in this exam.

The Vice Chancellor of King Edward Medical University Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz visited the examination centre, and expressed satisfaction with the arrangements.
The Controller of Examinations KEMU Prof. M. Haroon Hamid remained present at the Lahore centre and closely supervised the Multan centre along with Principal Nishter Medical College Prof Rashid Qamar. The Controller Examinations ensured the smooth proceedings of the prestigious exam right from paper setting, enrollment, conduct, and result compilation.

The JCAT examination was conducted by the staff of the examination department KEMU and NMU under the supervision of VC KEMU, VC NMU, Controller Examinations KEMU, Principal NMC Multan and Registrar KEMU Dr Riasat Ali.

Special facilities were provided for the disabled and sick candidates by the medical team of Mayo Hospital Lahore.

The Vice-Chancellor and the inspection team appreciated the examination department for conducting a successful exam with the best arrangements.

In continuation with its tradition, the Examination Department will declare the result within 48 hours using modern technology.
The result will be displayed on the official website of King Edward Medical University.
