Gold prices in Pakistan see huge decrease
Gold prices significantly declined on Monday, both in Pakistan and internationally, reflecting ongoing global market volatility.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewelers Association, 24-karat gold per tola dropped by Rs10,400, settling at Rs340,500 compared to Rs350,900 on the previous trading day.
Similarly, the rate for 10 grams of 24-karat gold fell by Rs8,917, reaching Rs291,923 from the earlier Rs300,840.
The dip in local prices aligns with a substantial drop in the international gold market, where the price of gold plunged by $104 per ounce, falling to $3,117 from the previous $3,221.
The trend of fluctuating gold rates continued in the Middle East as well.
In Saudi Arabia, the price of 24-karat gold was recorded at SAR 4,676 per tola on Monday, May 12, 2025.
According to Forex.pk, 10 grams of 24-karat gold stood at SAR 4,013, while the price of one ounce was SAR 12,482.
An alternate market source reported slightly lower values, with 10 grams priced at SAR 3,993 and one ounce at SAR 12,421.
These updates were based on the latest figures available as of 10:00 a.m. local time.
Experts attribute the global fluctuations to ongoing economic uncertainty and shifting investor sentiment, which continue to influence precious metal markets worldwide.
